{ IF I’M A BAD PERSON YOU DON’T LIKE ME I GUESS I’LL MAKE MY OWN WAY }
IT'S A CIRCLE, A MEAN CYCLE
- - - - - - I CAN’T EXCITE YOU ANY MORE
Today was just one of those days. Brie was sick of all the shit that went on here; the classes, the teachers who pretended to give a fuck when they really didn't, the other students, it was all too much. Needless to say, she was in a pretty foul mood as it was. To make things worse, she'd snapped a string on her acoustic guitar, meaning she had to turn to her electric. On a normal day, she would have been fine with that but today it wasn't enough. Nothing sounded right to her. It needed something more.
She played for a few more minutes before giving up entirely. It wasn't working so why bother even trying? She wished she was back in London, not for the first time. At least there she had people who she could play with. There wasn't anyone here, not anyone she knew. Except... There was one. But there was no way she was asking him. That would be an instant day-ruiner right there. Not that her day could really get any worse. A sigh left her lips as she sat down on the edge of the stage, legs dangling off the edge.
The redhead buried her face in her hands before reaching for the abandoned guitar again. She absentmindedly picked out the first few notes of 'Sweet Child O' Mine'. A smile played on her lips for brief moment. That was the first song she had ever learned. The first real song, at least. 'Marry Had A Little Lamb' and 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star' didn't really count.
The song switched. This time her fingers found the chords to 'American Idiot', Brie's newest favorite. She used to be rather indifferent to it. It wasn't until she was forced to move to this Godforsaken country that she had actually cared about it. She found it fitting and could easily relate to it. Her smile faded. A sharp pang of homesickness hit her. She hated this place more than anything. Everything about America seemed to piss her off. The girl stood, placing the guitar back on its stand. Though she wasn't ready to be done, she didn't feel like playing something that sounded shit.
It was an easy fix, really. All Brie needed was a simple bass line or a bit of drums. And she knew someone who could provide. Well, someone who could provide drums, at least. Asking him wouldn't really mean admitting defeat, would it? Not just this once... And it would only be once, she would make sure of that. But, God, he was so fucking annoying. She looked at the guitar again. Surely she could do without. It didn't sound that bad. Just... Empty. Brie swore. She needed a new hobby, one that didn't involve asking ass-holes for help.
Was she going to ask him or not, though? She needed to decide. It would be nice to just let it all out and there was something about playing a song and playing it well... But was it worth the trouble? There was a good chance of her becoming more pisses than she was now. He was good at making her explode, that was for sure. What the hell. If anything, he would give her someone to punch if things got too bad. It was a win-win situation, it seemed. Brie sighed again and jumped off the stage. Might as well get it over with.
As she placed a hand on the exit to the Auditorium, she had second thoughts. She pushed them away. She wasn't going to back off now. She had made her decision and was going to go through with it whether or not it killed her. Taking a deep breath and closing her eyes, she pushed on the door and stepped out. She bumped up against something warm and solid and opened her eyes. Well speak of the devil... An annoyed expression crossed her face and she crossed her arms.
"Hello." She said coldly. Just because she had chosen to ask him didn't mean she was going to be nice about it. She still didn't like him and wasn't going to pretend otherwise. She was only coming to him because there was no one else. End of story. If he had a problem with her then that was too bad. "You play the drum don't you?" As if she could forget. She remembered their first meeting very clearly, it had gotten her in isolation for a few days. She looked up at him, tapping her foot impatiently as she waited for his answer.
