General Description: Kandice is a generically a very nice and sweet girl. She doesn't judge people when seeing or meeting them for the first time. She has her own demons she doesn't express much about. She'd rather help her friends out before doing anything for herself. When around her mother, Kandice wears a mask on her face. Just so she can live up to her mother's expectations of staying thin, when she really wants to look healthy and be an actress.
When Kandice is around her friends, she's happy, and filled with hope. They would never suspect something wrong with her. They've always told her she looks great, beautiful. History: Kandice was born to what appeared to be a well functioning family. Nice home, perfect lawn, perfect everything. That's the thing, Perfection it runs everywhere in the Thompson home. EVERYTHING has to be in line, to be in it's right spot and place. If something were to be out of line, consequences are to be taken place. Or that's just how things went for Kandice.
Growing up, she was a daddy's girl. Her father Thomas or known as Tom, he did everything for her daughter. Granted he was in the military, and being an Army brat Kandice didn't care. Her father loved everything about his daughter, to him she was just perfect as can be. There could be nothing wrong with Kandice. Nothing at all. Her father passed away from being killed while on tour in Afghanistan. When she found out her father was killed, Kandice was devastated. Tom as her father, was her best friend. He was the one she would go to for advice, help. Anything, and he would be there for her.
Her mother on the other hand, is another story. Harsh, and wanting her daughter to be thin. Terri got Kandice to believe she's fat. To believe the mirrors, they lie. Terri wouldn't even let Kandice a decent size plate of food. That and she had to eat a certain amount of calories in order to stay in the weight she wants Kandice to be in.
When around her friends, Kandice would eat but whenever she was alone she'll make herself puke up the food she had just eaten. Her friends never suspected a thing. Not even Sullivan, her best friend ever really noticed Kandice's problem. Same with Tyler, he never really saw the problem. Her two friends were worried about her for how thin she had been. But they never really said a thing about it to Kandice.
One day in her Freshman year of high school, during theater rehearsals for an all school musical. Kandice was going over a dance routine for one of the main roles she had gotten. She was working and pushing herself so hard, and not eating enough to keep herself thin she ended up passing out. Hours later, Kandice ended up waking in a hospital room. Her mother and the doctor were there. Her doctor mentioned that Kandice had an eating problem and borderline Anorexic. Of how there's this school called St. Helena's, a place for teens to go to for help. Kandice wanted to get better, she wanted to be away from her mother. Terri agreed and pretended her daughter needed help.
While she was at St. Helena's, Kandice had gotten better and improved her eating habits. Everyone there had been helpful, and nice to her there. Others not so much, but it just varied of what mood they were in. She was there for about a year when they released her.
Her sophmore year to her junior year of high school had it's ups and downs. But lately it's been down for Kandice. Her mother's calorie intake had increased. Kandice once looking healthy, went back to being unhealthy. To eating a granola bar for her lunch and breakfast. And sometimes nothing at all. Her friends started to become worried, even her teachers. All Kandice wanted to be was an Actress. She was quite amazing acting and singing. She looked up college's away from home to live her career in acting.
The last week of her sophmore year turned around for the worst. She was doing so well despite her ups and downs throughout the year. The last week, there was so much pressure with finals and her mother's nagging about her weight. Kandice had gotten so stressed out, she stopped eating for a week. That week, she blacked out and found herself once more in the hospital with the same doctor and course her mother.
Her doctor was shocked to see Kandice back the same familiar spot. He recommended once more she should go back to St. Helena's. Her mother protested, but this time Kandice spoke up. Saying, "Mother, because of you I am this way. I need to stop doing this to myself." She was then sent back to St. Helena's in hopes of this would be the last time Kandice would have to be there.
