Remus sighed as he walked towards a bench in the courtyard of St. Helena's Academy he was holding tightly onto the olive green leash of Storm his golden Retriever service dog as they made their way over to the bench. He ran a small pale hand over his face as he slid down onto one of the many wooden benches that reminded him of the benches he saw in parks he took off his small black backpack and rested it next to him.
He then tied well wrapped really Storm's leash around the arm of the bench so that the dog wouldn't wander off not that he'd attempt to of course. Remus patted Storm's head as he let his thoughts wander to the fact that this would be his last chance to escape from his father he had better not screw up and get kicked out somehow he hoped he wouldn't he'd never gotten expelled before but it didn't sound like it was much fun to go through from what he'd heard about it.
Remus unzipped his backpack and pulled out a notebook and started carefully drawing a portrait of the campus and of the courtyard of course he was going to try and find a way to send it home to his mother to show her that he was alright here sometimes she worried too much about him. He bit his lip as he carefully sketched out the courtyard and the campus in pencil he let out a little gasp as the pencil got caught in the ring of his notebook by mistake and went sailing away from him he watched it roll away clattering as it hit the ground.
He carefully put his notebook down beside him and started to get up to go get the pencil that had travelled quite a ways away from him.

Kandice had been walking around the campus, to re-familiarize herself with it all. So many memories were made here, good and bad ones. She arrived yesterday evening which was Saturday evening. Too late to talk to her counselor Emily, and tell her why she was where she was at now. The young sixteen year old girl looked thinner than she ever had gotten to be. All Kandice wanted to do in life was be an actress, and maybe so much more.
While walking down the courtyard, she saw a young boy a freshman maybe with a service dog. He seemed to have lost something or he wouldn't be out away from his dog. Her eyes trailed down seeing what he might be looking for. Slowly, Kandice picked up the sketch pencil and slowly walked over to the boy not wanting to scare him. Not knowing what his past might be, and would rather not frighten him either.
"Are you looking for this? I think it might be yours." She said and gently gave it back to him. Her eyes then trailed over to the service dog and smiled a calm sweet smile as she looked back over at the boy. "I'm Kandice, or as some people call me Kandy." She said once more trying to make conversation and even make a new possible friend.
Kandice wasn't even sure if her old friends were around here still. She had the feeling some of them left already while she had been gone. Gone or not, it wouldn't hurt to meet some new people around here. She had the feeling tomorrow would be a long day with Emily and would rather just relax on a day that's not a weekday. Although if she were back at home, none of this would be happening. Her mother wold just not allow Kandice to be out in the open. Even when she was around her friends from school, her mother hated the fact of Kandice being social.

Remus was about halfway into a standing position when a girl picked up his pencil before he could get himself he'd never seen this girl before but then again he hadn't seen very many of the other kids that were here yet. He put his hand carefully onto Storm's back as Storm ever the attention seeking dog he was stood up and started wagging his large plumy tail wildly in excitement at the sight of someone approaching all the while glancing over at Remus as if to check that he was okay.
Remus bit his lip nervously and let his fingers tighten around a clump of Storm's soft and silky golden fur just so he had something to hold onto like a life line it helped him keep calm to hold onto something solid like Storm's fur. Remus looked the girl in the eyes very briefly as he took the pencil from her and mumbled quietly as he gazed at his feet. "um...Y-Yeah..it's m-mine um...t-thank y-you...and...um nice to m-meet you Kandice.. i'm....R-Remus b-but.... people like to call me Remmy..."He blushed nervously at how much he was stammering he didn't usually stammer so much when he was talking but his nerves were getting the better of him today it seemed well more then usual most likely because of how new he was to this place.
Remus let his his death grip on Storm's fur go a little be slack this girl didn't seem to be much of a threat she actually seemed like she was trying to make friends with him but he wasn't about to let his guard down just yet he had to be careful who he trusted around here. He turned carefully and rested the pencil onto the bench on top of his notebook.

The young boy looked almost terrified from just the way he was holding onto his dogs scruff. Kandice stood where she was when he took his pencil from her. She did what she could do to not appear to be a threat to him. She also hoped he wasn't going to go into a panic attack. Those there are not fun to deal with, or even go through them either.
A soft gentle smile rose to her face. She just wanted to show him everything will be okay. His dog seemed to show signs of her not being a threat to the young boy. Slowly she sat down on the grass, and the dog seemed to follow her lead wanting to greet her. Kandice stuck out her palm to let the dog sniff and know her scent. "Your dog seems really sweet. What's his name?" She asked smiling.
When she heard his name, Remy seemed to fit him for some odd reason. Remus just seemed like an old name for him. Then again, his young complexion, and body type didn't help. Then again, people thought the same way about Kandice and normally people would call her Kandy. "Nice to meet you then Remy."
Her eyes trailed over towards his sketchbook. Kandice enjoyed looking at people's art, that's if they were okay with it. Some saw and viewed it as their way of coping with the things that can go on people's minds. Just like acting and modeling have been a release for her to escape reality for a short while. To live in another life just for a short while, to not worry about her weight being an issue.
Kandice had also noticed the young boy appeared almost afraid of her, from the way he was stammering. "It's okay, I'm not going to hurt you Remy. I don't think I could harm a bug if I wanted to. You're safe with me." Kandice began to say. "I won't let anyone bully or harm you." She hoped he would believe her for she would never hurt someone, or even bully the poor kid.

Remus looked back down at Storm who'd calmed down a bit was now sitting down his big plum like tail was thumping against the ground and the bench leg as it wagged wildly Remus didn't see what he found so exciting about meeting new people he always found it quite terrifying to meet new people he was going to have a hard time not having a panic attack at some point during his first few days or weeks here at St. Helena's. He looked up again so that he was looking at the girl as he said, "H-His Name is S-Storm he's a G-Golden R-Retriever and its n-nice to m-meet you too"
Remus watched her gaze flicker to his sketch book and linger there for a few moments. Remus wondered if they liked to draw he certainly did but he mostly drew things as gifts for his mother just to let her see where he was and what it looked like so he mostly drew buildings and landscapes but every once in a while he did draw Storm and other animals and people he helped keep him focused and it calmed him down.
Remus looked up at the girl again as she started talking again he shifted his weight from one foot to another as his left foot had gone a bit numb and started doing pins and needles effect in both his feet and in his legs up until his knees. He realized he should have replied to her by now so he said, "I-I K-Know I-I just H-Have to B-Be cautious i-it's in m-my n-nature...and t-thank y-you..." he shifted his feet a bit more trying in vain to get rid of the slightly uncomfortable heaviness in feet and the pins and needles effect running up and down his legs making them tingle.

When Remus introduced his dog Storm to her, Kandice reached her hand out to Let Storm sniff her hand and even licked her hand. She giggled some and began to pet Storm. "Well nice to meet you too Storm." Sometimes people wonder how a dog could always be so energetic when it comes to meeting new people. Or how an animal can sense if they and their owner would be in trouble. Animals sense people before they even show their actoins, or so Kandice had thought.
She noticed he watch her eyes go over to his sketchbook. So she decided to ask, "So what do you like to draw?" Kandice could not draw to save her life, but could paint like no other. She paints as a hobby than to take a class. Sometimes Kandice would even watch others draw, and found it calming for those who're able to draw. To watch the page become filled with life, just like a painting is able to fill the canvas with life.
Kandice watched as he shifted from foot to foot unsure of what else to really do. Although she was relieved he didn't see her as a threat, but in his head he did. Luckily she's patient enough to show how patient she really can be. For someone like Remus, it takes a while to trust someone and Kandice could tell. "It's okay, there's nothing wrong with being cautious. It's actually a good thing of being cautious. You also must be new here." She said as she brought her knees up to her chest.
Her memories went back to when she first showed up here. How scared and nervous she had been. To not knowing anyone, and when she did meet someone it was Immogen who she had met here first. Strange? Yes. But Kandice and Immogen became friends almost instantly. Same with Taylor.

Remus bit his lip as he gave them the tiniest of smiles before he patted Storm's head he flicked his gaze back to his sketchbook as she asked what he liked to do he glanced back at her and said, "I-I like t-to draw b-buildings and places f-for my m-mother so I can s-send them t-t- her in the m-mail b-but sometimes I-I draw S-Storm and P-People i'm n-not v-very good" He glanced up at the sky it was grey and cloudy and overall a very miserable and yucky looking day he hoped it would rain a lot he liked the rain it helped him sleep at night since it was very soothing.
He guessed his mother had played rain music to him as baby and that's why or he'd just acquired a liking for the sound of rain as he had grown up. He was fine with rain and yucky days as long as there was no thunder or lightning he didn't like how loud thunder was and how bright lightning was it scared him when there were really bad storms.
Remus found himself nodding slightly to what she was saying it made sense he was just nervous because he had trust issues and this would be the first time he'd ever had to switch to a new school so it the whole concept of meting new people and having new teachers and living in a dorm room was a whole new concept for him, He said, "Y-Yeah I-I got h-here a f-few days ago t-this is t-the first time i-i've ever switched s-schools before.."He looked towards the school building at the sound of distant and muffled laughter from what he assumed was the teachers lounge he hoped the teachers were nice here he'd had a few strict and mean teachers at his old schools before.
He'd even had one teacher threaten to throw pens, rulers and many other things at him before he figured it was because of his mild autism he sort of zoned out into his own little world at times and got into trouble but Storm helped him stay focused on his work and not zone out because he was trained to notice when he was going off into his own little world and nudge him to get him to focus.
