Weight: 130 lbs
Hair Color: Brown
Eye Color: Blue
Notable Features: He had a prison tattoo covered by a solid black band once he left prison. Various scars from prison fights. There is a scar on his neck where his throat was slashed and his vocal chords severed, leaving him with a permanently husky voice and a scar that has faded into a very light line that you can only see if you are looking for it in certain light.
Play-By: Anton Yelchin
General Description:
In prison, they called him cutesty names like 'baby face' and 'curly top' because even in juvenile detention he looked to be by far the youngest. He looks young for his age and if his voice hadn't dropped and become gravelly thanks to a prison fight in which he was stabbed in the throat, he'd probably still be mistaken for a much younger boy. Being 'pretty' in prison was not a good thing, as you could probably guess, but he was clever enough to often use it to his advantage. Fights in prison were nearly unavoidable, though he did manage to minimize his danger by making himself seem deceivingly unimposing and by using diplomacy. He did manage to accumulate his fair share of scars from fights, most notably the one on his neck where he was stabbed, and by all accounts should have been killed. But, he was saved, though his voice would always be gravelly following the incident. He dresses elegantly, in spite of his contempt for consumerist society. Most of his clothes are stolen from rich people, so it feels like recycling and in a way it serves his cause. His hair is naturally quite curly and it used to bother him. It was far curlier when he was younger, and he used to be teased for it all the time. But, it kind of 'grew on him' and eventually the curls became less pronounced. He's committed many crimes but been convicted for few. This might have something to do with the fact that he just... looks like a good person. Not a killer, anyway.

-People who can survive on nothing at all.
-The idea of total Anarchy.
-Breaking things.
-Vandalism for a cause.
-Stealing from the rich.
-Nice clothes, as counter-intuitive as that may seem.
-He believes in this thing that is sort of like freeganism--- he believes in stealing everything you own from big corporations or rich people. Like, literally, steal your food and clothes to protest corporate corruption.
-The way blood looks on pavement.
-The smell of snow.
-Skiing.
-Knives of all sorts.
-Playing with fire (in the literal and figurative sense).
Dislikes:
-Kids.
-Rich people.
-Consumerism.
-Materialism.
-Corporations.
-Government.
-Waste and excess. There are people in the world who are starving. It disgusts him when he sees more fortunate people wasting food or throwing away money on expensive cars.
Strengths:
-Adaptable.
-He is very good at making friends. That is how he survived in prison--- diplomacy. (Developed in order to survive when he first got to prison.)'
-Leadership skills. (Developed after he was big enough to defend himself and had been in prison for some time.)
-He is loyal to those who are loyal to him, and fiercely protective of his comrades.
-Sharp shooter. His father got his licence and began selling fire-arms once they came to America. His father, an ex-military man, coached Aleks in his shootings skills and it became their main bonding experience.
-He is bilingual.
-He is well read.
-He does well in history and ethics class because he knows politics and government so well.
Weaknesses:
-He has an explosive temper when he is drunk, and when provoked he will resort to violence.
-He needs some amount of violence and chaos in his life to make it feel worth living. He often resorts to organizing petty crimes or vandalism.
-He is too dogmatic. If your views differ from his he will not let you see the light of day until he has thoroughly indoctrinated you with his anarchist views.
-Irresponsible at times. He doesn't bother with his school work since he thinks that school is just another part of the industrial machine. On tests, even when he knows the material, he will bubble in patterns on scantrons or write out his Anarchist Manifesto when he is supposed to be writing an essay.
-He is argumentative.
-He is unpredictable. Sometimes he doesn't seem to give a shit about anything and other times he buries himself in his Anarchist projects.
-He is spiteful at times and will go all-out on revenge. Much of his diplomacy was just a part of his prison persona that he created in order to survive. His cruelty is probably the result of neglect.
Fears:
-Being sent to some shady government institution and forgotten there.
-That some of his father's old enemies will find his mother and kill her.
-Himself. Becoming something he doesn't want to be. He feels like there is the potential inside of him to cause constructive destruction or simple destructive destruction. He wants to destroy society as it is in order to rebuild it into something better, but he is afraid that he'll just begin destroying for the sake of destruction, that he'll lose sight of his ideals and become corrupt.
Disorders: There are many possible disorders, but he has never been formally diagnosed as having any mental illness. He was sent here for some vague behavioural problems because they think that there is hope of reforming him. Oh, and he's a serial killer. But, nobody knows that outside of his little Anarchist organization.
General Description: He is, by nature, a suspicious person and very secretive. At the same time he is outgoing and sociable. He knows how to make friends in unlikely places and knows how to make people want to follow him. He is convincing and knows what he is talking about because he has been surrounded by politics, corruption, activism, and revolution his entire life. He can be particularly dangerous around suggestible youths and mentally unstable people because he can compel them to do terrible things for him and has great leadership skills. When he was in prison, he found a way to orchestrate things so that one of the cooks in the prison canteen was sneaking in cigarettes for all of the prisoners. This sort of little thing made him very popular with many of the prisoners and seem like a threat to others. But, he had a way of diffusing tensions when someone wanted to challenge him. He had a way of talking that made it seem like he was compromising when he was actually standing firm. He wasn't a typical alpha-male either. He was stoic when it was useful and companionable when it served him.
As far as his people skills go, nothing has changed since he left prison. The only difference is now he isn't just sneaking in cigarettes, but has found a way to sneak in some pot or odd sleeping pills too. The best part is, he has it set up so that there is no way of tracing the traffic to him, because he never even touches the stuff. He works be suggestion and connecting his connections. He makes no actual profit off of the traffic, but that is not the point of it. The point is to endear himself to the people who do make money off of that sort of thing. If he hadn't been born into an anarchist family, he could have made a good business man. He learned how to talk his way out of trouble and made friends with all sorts of prisoners. He was even well liked by the prison wardens. He was a friend to everyone.
The thing is, his personality isn't fixed. He's very adaptable and seems to become a different person to fit his situation. When he was living with his parents he was his father's student, a perfect little receptacle for knowledge and life lessons. When he was with his foster family he was, or seemed to be, the perfect little Aryan boy they wanted up until he murdered them. When he was in prison he quickly learned to be a diplomat, and when he was big enough to defend himself, to be a leader. Now that he is at St. Helena's there's no telling what he will become.
He might not even know who he wants to be now that he is allowed to be whoever he wants. All of his life he has worn one mask over another, trying to please people so he might survive, but now that there is no one that needs to be pleased he may have a chance to discover who he really is.[/blockquote]

NataliaMother:
Father: Ilya
History:
His father lead a failed coup d'etat in their small Eastern European homeland when Aleks was two years old, and fled the country (which was being absorbed into Russia) with the family in fear of retribution. They spent a year in France under various false identities, and then another few years in the UK as squatters while Ilya worked on obtaining US citizenship for the family. Eventually, they immigrated to America, illegally at first but living under their own names. By the time their citizenship was legal, Aleks was speaking American English with barely a hint of his old mixed-up accent.
All of his childhood was filled with talk about consumerism and class division, the rich shitting all over the poor, from his revolutionary father. He grew up knowing that people were slaves to corporations, credit card companies, debt incurred from merely living. He was taught that people are not 'special snowflakes' but that every man is completely worthless from birth and that all of the money in the world was only contributing to his own moral degradation, that only through sacrifice and destruction could man rise from his own ashes like a phoenix.
He was always a clever boy, a reader, and a deep thinker. His thoughtful remarks in class always endeared him to his teachers, but he did not to well in school because if he was not interested in a subject, he simply refused to participate in it. He read not one of the books assigned to him in English class until he was asked to read “The Brothers Karamazov” by Ms. Collins in his English I class at St. Helena's.
When he was very young he seemed like any other child. He was maybe a little bit brighter than some of the other children, but he wasn't Einstein. He socialized and played well with other children. He related to his parents in appropriate ways and asked maybe slightly advanced but generally age appropriate questions. He was afraid of the dark as a small child and his father broke him of that by telling him that he had no right to be afraid of the dark because he'd never seen true darkness like the political prisoners in their home country had seen it. And then he was forced to sit in a completely dark room without food, water, or interaction for an entire day. He'd been terrified at first, but by the end of what seemed like an eternity he came to terms with the darkness and was not afraid after that.
Much of his early personality was shaped by his father, the revolutionary. But, when Aleks was nine his father was murdered by those who had chased them to America in the first place. More than once he was taken away from his family by social workers for one reason or another, since someone on the inside was against Aleks's father. He would be taken away, sometimes for weeks at a time, before being returned to his parents. He hated being away from them and that, coupled with the rage over his father's death, was what inspired him to kill his foster family when he was nine. The family that had taken him in were a bunch of fascists whose less than clean record had been overlooked by the system. The only reason they'd agreed to foster Aleks was because they had met him and knew him to be of 'Aryan' blood. They tried to break him, so he killed them, and he enjoyed it. He killed the father and the mother but didn't hurt the other foster children. Instead, he tied them up in another room so they couldn't call for help, put on a cartoon channel on the television so they wouldn't be bored, and left for his second shooting spree.
He walked into the mall with his firearm---stolen from his foster father--- concealed in the pocket of his hoodie. He walked into a luxury clothing retail store and when some of the employees grew suspicious and called their manager, thinking that he was stealing something and had it in his sweater pocket, he opened fire, injuring the manager two unarmed security officers, a costumer, and several of the employees before he was subdued. It wasn't until the police went to the house to inform his foster parents of his arrest that they discovered the bodies.
They wanted to try him as an adult when he expressed no regret following the murders. Some were even pushing to give him the death penalty--- and he was only nine years old! In the end they gave him ten years, which shocked people on both sides of the case. As much as his attorneys tried to keep his name out of the media, it was leaked and he was the target of many death threats inside of prison. He doesn't think about the murders that landed him in prison very often. In some ways he doesn't even feel responsibility for them, though in court he made himself out to be the victim.
Because of his notoriety and the fact that he looked young for his age, he was the target of bullies from the very start. But, after he had been beaten a couple of hundred times he learned and morphed into a new person--- the Aleks who was not 'baby face' but the one who was a friend to all and a survivor. He managed to take the beatings without appearing too weak or too strong and eventually befriended many of his former bullies. He became popular in the juvenile detention centre because he was very good at smuggling things and had deals worked out with some of the kitchen staff.
As he grew older he became more popular with the other inmates. All the time he was changing himself in order to survive. Sometimes it seemed like he was a million different people at once, but the tactic of self-transformation worked. The prison officials liked him because he was polite and didn't make trouble, and the prisoners liked him because he treated them the way they wanted to be treated (for some that meant like equals, for others it meant like underlings, and for others still it was like superiors) and smuggled them the things they wanted without asking for much in return. He tutored other prisoners in politics and was a great orator. He turned many a potential skinhead into an anarchist with an agenda. When he spoke, people listened. He'd inherited his father's leadership skills and was rewarded for them all the time.
He wasn't without enemies. Alpha-male types always wanted to pick fights with him because he was so popular. He wasn't amazing at hand-to-hand combat, but could hold his own for the most part. He did his best to avoid fighting, however, at least in prison, since it would not look good when they reviewed his case to see about early release if he'd been in too many fights.
When he was thirteen or fourteen years old, he got into a fight with a guy who had always had it out for him for no real reason other than that he inspired envy. His attacker had managed to conceal a shank and when Aleks was coming in for a swing, he cut Aleks on the throat. Luckily for Aleks, he was near the infirmary and they managed to save him, but his vocal chords sustained permanent damage. His voice was always hoarse and gravelly after that. At first he hated it, but then he came to love it. The voice distinguished him from the other boys. It made him appear older, and when the scar healed it was a testament to his survival.
In prison, he wrote his Anarchist Manifesto and passed it around to other inmates, many of whom identified with his ideas and came to be his followers. He held warden sanctioned 'study groups' with other prisoners where they discussed their anarchist ideas and made plans for meeting up after being paroled and starting a sort of Anarchist underground. They planned to target financial institutions and symbolic corporate and government buildings. They'd be careful to make certain that as few people were harmed as possible when they destroyed the buildings, so it would be more like vandalism than violence. They had it set up so that whoever was paroled first would set up contacts outside of prison for the rest of them inside of it. Leadership was shared officially, but they all looked up to Aleks. They were all sorry to see him go when he was paroled because prison would be a much less interesting place without him, but by then they were all involved enough in the organization to run autonomously in his absence.
The first sign that things might be changing in him once he left prison was that he got his prison tattoo covered by a solid black band on his arm. It is till not clear where this was a sign of his leaving prison behind for good, or just a sign of the new phase in his road to becoming a revolutionary. The second thing he did after leaving prison was get laid. It wasn't too hard to do. He was a smooth talker before he had a few drinks, and by then he usually had people where he wanted them. He only had a month of freedom at a temporary housing unit at a home for troubled youths. And, in that one month he had as much sex with as many people as possible in order to make up for lost time and get it all out of his system. He used protection, fortunately, and didn't contract anything. But, he did find that he liked it rough and often.
He's not huge a fan of being in St. Helena's but it sure beats prison, and he has been in institutions his entire life. He knows how those systems work and how to work them to his advantage. He does not intend to lose site of his original mission. He will most likely prey on vulnerable students and give them a cause to believe in, in order to fill his new recruit quota. But, the future is really uncertain. Now that he is away from prison he can take off his prison mask. He no longer needs to be a leader. He became a leader, not because he liked it, but because that was how he survived. Maybe he'll find that he still wishes to be a leader, and maybe he'll find that he is content just to fall back into the shadows and read his philosophy books. Who knows? Freshman year was a blur but now that he knows the territory he could turn into just about anything.
Crimes:
-Petty Theft (Various times, never charged.)
-Homicide (Convicted twice for killing his foster parents)
-Attempted Homicide (Convicted for seven counts for the people he injured in his shooting spree), though they were able to determine later on that he did not shoot to kill--- something he was very capable of doing--- but rather to wound.)
-Serial Slayings (Not convicted. Never caught. But, he was responsible for making several people have 'accidents' while he was incarcerated. There is no way of determining whether he carried out the killings himself or if he enlisted the help of his followers. But, jail bullies turned up dead more than once while he was around and security cameras that were supposed to be monitoring the rooms where the victims died were always mysteriously malfunctioning whenever the deaths occurred. They might have had better luck finding the killer if they'd bothered to search Aleks's belongings, where he kept polaroids of all of his victims taken before they were killed.)
-Possession of a Stolen Weapon (Never convicted.)
-Bombing (On his last day of freedom, before school started, he went to an expensive restaurant with one of his recently paroled friends, dressed like a proper patron, but had bombs installed at strategic points in the building to create maximum chaos. They then paid for their meal with stolen money and set off the bombs as they left the restaurant. No one even suspects him of this one. No one was killed in the blasts, but there was massive property damage and some people were injured.)
-And, the creepiest of his crimes--- he charmed a wealthy old woman over the summer after his freshman year. He went to her house every day, brought her flowers, treated her the way a date or maybe a grandson would treat her. She groomed him and dressed him in expensive clothes, bought him a camera, gave him money to do with whatever he liked. She wrote him into her will. And, then she died mysteriously having overdosed on her heart medication. It was ruled an accident.
