danger in the shape of somethin' wild stranger dressed in black, she's a hungry child tagged: all mlb fans || words: 687 || outfit: clickylyrics: hot child in the city by nick gilder Nykki opened passenger side door of Ric's car to step out. She reached up, gripping the doorframe before reaching out, laughing as Ric was there to take her other hand and help her out of the car. "Thanks for doing this, Ricy. I know this isn't exactly your thing," she stated, leaning in to kiss his cheek. Even though her usual height of 5'10" made her seem significantly shorter to Ric whenever she was barefoot, the fact that she wore shoes that elevated her at least 3 inches, or like today, 5 inches, she seemed to stand at the same height with her adopted brother. It certainly made kissing his cheek much easier in cases like this. She grabbed her parasol from the car and opened it up. Grabbing her glove, she tucked it safely under her arm so she was ready to go. Looping her arm through Ric's, lacing her fingers into his, she smiled. "We ready then?"
With that, and the parasol held so that both she and Ric were protected from the sun's rays, she walked with him towards the stadium. Pausing at the gates, she handed over the two tickets she had shoved into her bra and smiled as the man gave her back the ticket stubs. She'd bought all the tickets in advance weeks ago and handed them out to those who would be coming to the game. She had a whole row of seats reserved for her little 'party'. One of the last home games of the season, Nykki wasn't sure if the stadium would be full or empty, she hadn't really been paying attention to the Nationals' stats over the summer, she'd had more important things to do than watch baseball games, though she did enjoy the sport.
She grinned over at Ric as they walked in. "Alright, we've got our seats... and everyone else has the tickets I gave them, so we'll all be guaranteed to be seated together. Let's do some shopping," she stated excitedly. She pulled Ric inside, closing the parasol once they were in the shaded portion of the stadium and pulled him towards the nearest vendor who was selling food stuffs. She released Ric's arm in order to pull out her small wallet from her bra and pull out money to pay. "Ricy, you want a hot dog?" she asked, grinning as she reached out to get her own hot dog and looked over at her friend before looking back at the vendor quickly. "Oh! And a Coors Light too, please," she stated, grinning slightly before looking back at Ric to see if he wanted a hotdog. It was lunch time after all.
Of course, she could hardly wait to see if Salizar would actually come. She'd given him a ticket and he'd said he would come, though she hadn't told Ric that he was one of those who had been invited. She had thought that maybe, though, it would make the day even better for Ric, since he wasn't that big of a fan of baseball. Of course, later they were going to have the cookout, but hey... it would still be fun. She picked up her hot dog and took a bite from it before reaching out to take her beer bottle by the neck. Swallowing she smiled. "Thanks," she exclaimed, paying for her beer, hotdog, and another hotdog for Ric, handing it to him. Whether he wanted it or not, she had already gotten it, so there. After all, what was a baseball game without hot dogs?!
She handed Ric his ticket stub so that if they got separated, he'd know where to go. "Shall we go find our seats? I got us pretty close to the field I think, that will be awesome, maybe we can catch a foul ball or something," she stated excitedly. "Chris said he'd be here, and he'd try to drag AJ out, I didn't have any luck getting AJ to agree, but maybe Chris will... Michael said he'd come, and so did Ari. A few others were invited too, but they didn't know if they could make it or not..." Maybe they were already there! How awful if they were the last ones! But she knew right then that if Salizar didn't show up, she was going to kick his butt when she next saw him.

Ariyana drove the car, glancing back at Jenna every so often in her rear view mirror with a smile. The little girl sang along happily with the kids music that played from the speakers. She had insisted on being all decked out in red and blue for the game, Ariyana had even bought her a Nationals t-shirt for this game. Honestly, Ariyana had not been planning on bringing her, but when Jenna found out the look on her face had melted Ariyana's heart, and she had not been able to say no. Hopefully, none of her co-workers would mind. It would make the game more enjoyable for her anyway, knowing that Jenna was right there with her, and safe. She still feared that one of these days, Derrick would find them, and would try to take Jenna from her, or worse. Parking the car, Ariyana undid her seatbelt, and got out of the car, closing the door behind her, before moving around the the rear passenger side door, and opening it. She helped Jenna undo her seat belt, and climb out. ”Are you ready, sweetheart?” she asked, as she closed the door and grabbed her purse, and sweatshirt out of the passenger seat. Jenna nodded excitedly, bouncing a little. It was hotter than she had expected, but she would rather have the zip hoodie just in case one of them got cold so Ariyana tied it around her waist. ”Mommy, can I have your hat?” she asked looking up at Ariyana. Ariyana smiled softly, and removed the hat she'd been wearing, placing it on Jenna's head. A few strands fell around her face, and she tucked them behind her ears, glad she had pulled most of her hair back in a ponytail. ”Come on, let's go find everyone,” she said, taking Jenna's hand and then the two began walking through the parking lot. Admittedly, other than watching a bit on TV, Ariyana knew nothing about baseball, and had never been to a game like this before. It would be fun, she thought. Hopefully, Nykki, and whomever else was coming would not be too hard to find. As they walked through the crowd, Ariyana smelled hot dogs, and her stomach grumbled. ”Are you hungry, Jenna?” she asked looking down at her daughter who noded that she was. The walked to the vendor, and Ariyana released Jenna's hand to go into her purse. ”Two hot dogs, and an orange Gatorade, please,” she ordered, thanking the man after she had received them. Ariyana handed Jenna the Gatorade, figuring that would be easiest for her 4 year old daughter to carry. Balancing the two hot dogs in one hand, she took Jenna's hand again, and they moved to search for the others. That looked like Nykki up a head, Ariyana thought as she tried to look through the crowds for her co workers. ”Nykki!” Ariyana called with a smile, and made her way over to the woman. As they got closer she saw Ric as well. Smiling, Ariyana and Jenna made there way toward them, stopping by them. ”Hi guys! I hope it's alright I brought my daughter, Jenna, with. She really wanted to come,” She said looking between the two adults as she spoke. Turning to her daughter she said, ”Jenna these are some people Mommy works with. Miss Nykki and Mr. Ric,” she explained to Jenna. Jenna looked up at the two adults with wide doe like eyes, The one her mommy had called Miss Nykki, dressed funny she thought. And the one her mommy had said was Mr. Ric had blue hair! Both adults really captured her attention. She smiled up at them and said, ”Hi!” jubilantly. Not sure who to look at as they both fascinated her. OUTFITSJENNA

you should know me by now And I thought you'd feel the same as me. It's time that I come clean, but; But, for now can we just both pretend to sleep? Sometimes the one you want is not the one you need. What goes around don't come around. You should know me by now. [/style][style= width: 402px; height: 200px; background: url(http://i47.tinypic.com/2eg68g2.jpg);] [/style][style= width:402px; height: 390px; background-color: #ffffff;] [style=width: 300px; font-family: arial narrow; font-size:10px; line-height:91%; text-align:justify; overflow: auto; margin-bottom: 5px; padding-bottom: 5px; height: 320px; padding-top: 5px; margin-right: 5px;margin-top: 10px; color: #000000; background-color: #fff;]Alaric was not the type of person to open car doors or help others out of a car. He just wasn't. It was not something he ever took the time to think on. Opening a building door for someone, sure; but, going around to the passenger side to assist them when he was on the complete opposite side? No. However, somehow that day, Ric ended up on the passenger side, looking at everything around them, before Nykki had managed to get out, so he took her hand to tug her out with him. After all, being there was what she wanted. He was happy to be there with her, even if baseball was far from being his thing. Ric was more excited for the cookout afterward, to be honest. He hoped that everyone was going to have a great time. "Wait, people come to baseball games to go shopping?" questioned Ric with a soft laugh, flicking his hair back out of his eyes as they walked. That seemed rather counter-productive if you asked him. Why go to a game to go shopping? Wouldn't you end up missing things? Of course, Ric guessed they could multi-task rather easily if they wanted to. He scrunched his face up when they stopped at a hot dog vendor. He really hated those things. They turned his stomach, just the smell. It had been that way for years; but, Ric could not exactly pin point why. "Just a Coke for me, please," Ric stated with a smile. He would eat when they had the cookout, anyway. It would be much better; he would make sure of it, being as it was going to be at his place, so he would man the grill. He scrunched his face up again when Nykki handed him a hot dog anyway. He loved his best friend to death, but there were sometimes he wished that she would listen better. "You know I'm just going to give this to someone else who might want it, right?" He laughed with a smile, not upset in the slightest that she had gotten him one anyway; but, he was not going to make himself sick by eating it just to make her happy. Ric loved to make her happy but there were a limit to things.
With a laugh and a smile, Ric flicked his hair out of his eyes and nodded a little as he said, "Yeah, c'mon, let's go find our seats." A faint frown formed on Ric's face at her mention of A.J. He had really hoped she would have just let that idea lie. He had flat out said 'no' and explained why. It was something that Alaric understood. He would rather A.J. forgo an attempt at a group gathering than have to worry about the kid falling into a panic attack all afternoon. "He's not me, you know. The more you bug him, the more closed up and insistent he is going to be to not be here. The game is a great idea for the rest of us, but not all of us." He shook his head a little and squeezed her arm lightly. Ric thought that the rest of the staff going to the game was a great idea. It was a bonding activity that did not involve unstable teenagers. Ric was aware that A.J. was not even in town that weekend, something that had been decided spur of the moment since he had originally thought he would be going the following weekend. However, plans change. Alaric thought it would be good for the kid to get out and go see his dad, destress a little. "I don't really know much about Michael or Chris, to be honest. I know Laura more; she's coming with her brother, right?"
Alaric smiled again as Ariyanna arrived with her daughter, flicking his hair out of his eyes once again. "Hiya, sweetie," Ric said to the little girl with another smile before offering her the hot dog that he really didn't want. "D'you want it? Miss Nykki here forgot that I don't like them." He shook his head a little with a smile, hoping that maybe someone would at least enjoy the thing that he could not even bring himself to attempt to stomach.

Abigail was one of the few people who actually knew he followed baseball, though he hadn't ever expected her to want to come to an actual major league baseball game with her. Especially when she told him that Alaric would also be there, and that she'd invited at least half of the school staff. Well, now he was getting just a little wary. Though still, it seemed to mean a lot to Abigail, and so he had gotten up that morning, it was just a normal Saturday as he got dressed, digging out clothes he hadn't thought he'd need working at St. Helena's. Gotten into his car and started on his way.
Pulling out his wallet when he got to the gate, he presented the ticket that Abigail had given to him and got his ticket stub in return. He headed into the stadium, wondering where his seat was. Staring at his ticket, he pondered, of course he'd come in the opposite door, he was such a fool. He sighed, resigning himself to a long walk around the stadium, though about halfway around, spotted a vendor that sparked his interest. Remembering that at least two of those who would be at the game would appreciate these products, he purchased a full case of the product before heading back on his merry way. By the time he reached the right section, he was beginning to wonder if the stadium was enchanted like the labyrinth in that Jim Henson movie with David Bowie where there was just no end to it unless you walked through a wall.
The crowd was a sea of red. Red Phillies merchandise, red Nationals merchandise, and him dressed in the blue of a team that wasn't even playing. But no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't bring himself to buy merchandise for any team that was not the Dodgers. Something ingrained in him, perhaps. Or perhaps he was just telling himself that because half the teams seemed to be red, and he didn't look very good in red at all. However, in the sea of red, a single spot of blue located beside a spot of black caught Salizar's attention and he smiled slightly. Moving up towards the group, he took his free hand as he came up behind the 6'3" male with blue hair and wrapped an arm around the other's waist, pressing against him from behind.
"Well, well, well... look who is at an actual sporting event," Salizar teased, pressing a gentle kiss to Alaric's neck before shifting to stand beside of him. He smiled slightly before eyeing the soda in Alaric's hand. "Aw, really? You don't want that do you?" He asked, arching any eyebrow slightly at the other male as he lifted the box currently in his hand bearing the Starbucks logo. "I have doubleshot energy drinks... I thought you'd prefer that to beer..." he stated, when his gaze fell to Abigail who was indeed, nursing a beer bottle. "Really, Abigail? Do you know how bad that stuff is for you? It will corrode your liver..."
He shook his head as Abigail told him to hush, he wasn't a doctor today. "I'm a doctor everyday, Abigail," he stated before looking over at the other member of their party. He smiled pleasantly as he held out his free hand. "I'm sorry... I don't think we've had the pleasure. Salizar Snighrig, I work in the infirmary," he stated, offering a smile before looking to the child who was standing beside the woman. "And who is this!?" he asked, bending down to her level and smiling slightly. "Well I think you've got to be the prettiest girl in the stadium," he stated, smiling slightly. | [atrb=style, font-family: Tahoma; word-spacing: 1px; text-align: center; background-color: #000000; border: 2px solid #939393; color: ; padding: 10px; opacity: 0.5]TAGGED: travis || WORD: 664 || OUTFIT: clicky

Michael drove in his black SUV to the baseball game. He had a Mt. Dew in the cup holder, his sunglasses on, and some old school Boys II Men playing from his speakers. Baseball was not his favorite sport, football was, it was what he had played in college. But, he still expected the day to be fun. The weather was nice. It would also give him a chance to get to know more of his co-workers. Since he had moved to Summersville a few weeks ago, he'd gotten to know a few, but not that many. He was head of security, which took up a lot of his time. Though he figured a place like St. Helena's was not at the top of most people's lists if they had a security background. Some of the kids at the school could be very violent, to themselves and others. It worried Michael that there were not more security personnel to keep the counselors, teachers, and other staff safe. Especially staff like Jackson. He didn't think the younger man would have a clue what to do if a student started out. Maybe Michael should offer to teach him some basic self defense. And any of the other staff as well. Arriving at the stadium, he parked his vehicle, and got out; reaching in to grab his half full Mt. Dew to finish on the way in. He stut the door and locked it before walking through the parking lot. The smell of hot dogs hit his nose, as he took a drink of his Mt. Dew. It was tempting, but Michael knew there was going to be a cookout afterward, and so he wanted to save his appetite. That did not mean he could not enjoy a beer however. He was not working for the rest of the day. No security duty, no class to teach, and no football to coach, so why not. He payed the vendor, and made his way through the crowd some more, drinking up the last of his soda, and tossing it in a nearby trash can. Michael twisted the cap on the beer bottle, and put it to his lips. It tasted good. As he walked, holding his beer in his hand he looked for the others. Well, for Nykki, as he figured she was probably the only one there he would know. He spotted Nykki, and a group of people, making his way over to them with a smile. A smile that faltered slightly out of shock as he saw her. Ariyana Morgan. He'd met her years ago when he'd been a cop, thanks to her asshole of an ex. At one time they had grown close, like brother and sister, but over time, they had lost touch. And that must be her little girl, he thought, who was not so little anymore. Walking up to the group, he looked at all of them, his eyes lingering on Ariyana for a second, then went to Nykki. ”Hey, Nikki. Thanks for inviting me,” he said smiling, then took a drink of his beer. Turning toward Ric and Salizar he said, ”Hey, I'm Michael Greyson, I work security.” It was his main job, anyway. Teaching Weight lifting, Mixed PE, and Speech was secondary. He offered his free hand to one male, than the other, in greeting. Turning to Ariyana he said, ”Hi Ariyana,” with a smile. OUTFIT

She did not mind watching the sport, and when Chris had played, she had gone to every game. However, she did not make habit of following the sport on television or anything like that. Every now and then she might watch a football game with some friends; and the Superbowl was a must watch. Past that, though? Laura would rather be out somewhere dancing, or just listening to music. The movies were even a better option, in her opinion. However, the chance to bond with some co-workers somewhere that wasn't the school was too good of an opportunity to miss. She was driving carefully out toward the stadium, rarely, if ever going past the speed limit. Usually, she was a much faster driver, choosing to speed practically everywhere. However, she knew that Chris still had a hard time with cars, so anytime he was with her, she drove more safely. She almost wished that A.J. could have gone with them; but, she really understood why he wouldn't want to. A part of her wanted to explain to Chris about A.J.'s severe anxiety issues, however, that was not her place. However, they had not been in the car more than five minutes before A.J. had called Chris, something Laura was glad for because if anyone could keep Chris' mind off of the car ride, it would be A.J. "'Ey, loverboy, we're here," she told her brother as she parked the car, flicking her hair back out of her eyes. "Tell A.J. good-bye, now so we can go find the others." Laura could never pass up a good opportunity to tease her brother about something, and A.J. was usually always the easiest thing.
She climbed out of the car and waited for him to do so as well before she linked her arm with his to drag him along. "C'mon, Reds-Wolf, let's head in," she said with a smile, flicking her hair out of her eyes once again. "Want to grab some water before we look for the others? |
[/b]" No matter what Chris' answer was, Laura stopped and got one for herself and when they were both ready, she started to lead her brother once again, in search of the others. She spotted Alaric and Nykhole first, as the two of them were not too difficult to spot in a crowd. " There they are." Laura led the way over to them and smiled when they reached the others, which included the earlier mentioned two, Salizar Snighrig, Aryianna (Laura forgot her last name), and Michael Greyson. She knew everyone, but was not all that close to any of them, either. Ric was probably tied with Nykki for most personable out of the bunch, though. " Hi, guys. Got lucky with a close parking spot today. Anyone else?" Laura rarely had luck at events like that, typically having to walk hella far to get to wherever she was going. Baseball was one thing that Chris loved. It was right up there with family, and coffee for him. While he had not played in many years, he still enjoyed the game, and like watching his favorite team the LA Dodgers play on TV. Enough time had passed, maybe he was ready to start playing again. It could be fun, join some recreational team. He did not however like the way that they had to get to this game. Even though it had been many years, he still had trouble riding in cars. He did not think it would ever go away. It was one of the reasons he chose to ride his bike everywhere. He was sitting in the passenger seat, thankful Laura had given him something to take to make the car ride easier. As easy as it could be, anyway. He was sweating, trying to control his breathing, and watching the speedometer. Then his phone went off, it took him a second to even get it out with his nerves. It was A.J., and Chris could not help but smile as he answered the phone. ”Hey,” he said, and listened to A.J. talk. ”We're on our way there right now,” he answered. Admittedly, Ashley did quite a bit more talking than Chris did during the ride, but that was pretty normal with them. And it defiantly helped to take Chris' mind off the car ride, he only had trouble breathing once, and it passed quickly. Turning to Laura when she spoke, he rolled his eyes. ”Alright, A.J. I gotta go, She-wolf is impatient. I'll call you tonight, he said and hung up the phone and climbed out. Chris feigned annoyance at the nickname, but knew Laura would see right through him. He followed, letting her lead them with their linked arms. She may tease him quite a bit, and he may not always show it, but he was glad she was his sister. She wasn't a huge baseball fan, he knew. But here she was driving him, while he freaked out, because he'd asked her to go with him. Yeah,” he said and paid the vendor for his water. The cool water felt good on his dry throat and lips, he guessed from the stress. Following Laura, he hoped it would be a good game. Admittedly, that was more why he was here than to bond with his co-workers. Chris gave a nod to the others as they approached the group. He knew all of the people, though some better than others. Nykki, and Michael. Ric and Ariyana, whom he probably knew the least about of the group. And Salizar, his boss. When his eyes fell on Salizar Chris was in shock. That was the most casual he thought he had ever seen the man. He didn't think the other man even owed anything that casual. And he used that term loosely, because casual to Chris, was workout clothes, or sweats. And he was a Dodgers fan, at that. outfit

danger in the shape of somethin' wild stranger dressed in black, she's a hungry child tagged: all mlb fans || words: 784 || outfit: clickylyrics: hot child in the city by nick gilder Nykki laughed at Alaric, looking over towards him. "Well you can shop for merchandise and foodstuffs," she stated easily. "Some merchandise you can only buy at the teams stadium. Like some specialty items, autographed items, retired items, stuff like that you can't even order it online unless you're getting it from like... ebay or craigslist or something." She grinned at the other male before he mentioned the hotdog. She sighed, shrugging slightly. "Well, a girl can hope. You know your taste buds die off and regenerate every seven years, I was hoping maybe your tastes had changed for the all time american food," she stated, taking a bite from her hotdog.
She looked towards him as he spoke about AJ and gave him a faint nod. "I know... I just thought it would be good for him to get out of that little office. I didn't want him to think I was some kind of dictator just cause I was his intern supervisor." She didn't like to think of anyone all couped up all the time, she had just hoped that AJ would agree to get out in the sun with some other of her friends. She glanced towards the other and nodded slightly as he stated he didn't much know Michael or Chris. "Chris is a sweetheart. I have to work with him sometimes during the blood tests and stuff." She smiled slightly. "And yeah, he's coming with Laura, I'm pretty sure. And Michael, he's pretty chill. I've only spoken to him a couple times around the school but... yeah.
And then Ariyana was arriving. Nykki squealed excitedly, stepping forward a bit with a grin. "Hey, chiqua!" she exclaimed, grinning brightly before taking notice of the little girl with Ariyana. "Ohmigosh, you're so adorable!!!!" she exclaimed, squatting down, not seeming to care about the cold concrete on her bare knees as she sat back on her heels in front of the girl. She grinned as Ariyana introduced them, and tilted her head. "Hello, Jenna. What a pretty name! You know my cousin's name is Jenna and she and I were closer than sisters when we were younger!" she stated easily, smiling slightly, laughing as Ric offered her his hot dog.
And then Salizar was making his appearance... decked all out in his baseball gear. Nykki beamed at the male approvingly, giggling as he wrapped his arms around Ric and spoke. And then he was holding out... starbucks. Nykki's eyes went wide as she turned her attention to the beer in her hand and then back to Salizar. She pouted. How unfair! How was she supposed to choose?! Caffeine... or beer? When he actually commented, she rolled her eyes. "Oh hush, Sally, you're not a doctor today," she stated. She shook her head, getting up to her feet as Salizar spoke to little Jenna and smiled slightly. "Ariyana, you'll have to excuse Salizar. He can be a stick in the mud, sometimes, but today, I'm going to make him clean up his act. No sticks in the mud allowed here today."
And then their group was adding three more. She grinned at Michael. "Thanks for coming!" she exclaimed as he thanked her for inviting him. And it would seem he already knew Ariyana. "Well, Michael, this is Ric, he's the music geek of the group, and this is his boyfriend, Salizar who works in the infirmary at St. Helena's," She pointed to each of the other two. "Oooh! And Laura and Chris! Who also work in the infirmary! Yay! Everyone's here now!" she exclaimed, clapping. "Now! I think we need to take little Jenna shopping for some baseball goodies... the game doesn't start until 1:30, right now its just pregame stuff. Though I think we should go get our seats and make sure no meanies try stealing them. 'cause I got good seats down by the wall so we can catch plenty of foul balls," she stated easily.
"Shall we then?" she asked, shifting across the group to hug Laura and then hug Chris. "Thanks for coming you guys! This is gonna be an awesome day!" she exclaimed, backing up away from the duo before she practically danced towards the stairwell that would take them down to their row of seats, pulling her ticket stub out, grabbing Ric's hand and pulling him along behind her and towards their seats.

Jenna blushed lightly as the lady mommy had said was Miss Nykki talked to her, and then smiled softly as Mr. Ric did, nodding as she took the hot dog from him carefully.”What do you say sweetheart?”Ariyana prompted her daughter gently. ”Thank you,” she replied softly, and then began to nibble on the hot dog. Ariyana balanced the Gatorade and the now two hot dogs she held. Jenna had clearly decided Ric's was better. Some days she wished that she had three hands. Reaching out she shook Salizar's hand, giving him a small smile. ”Nice to meet you, I'm Ariyana Morgan.” She ate some of her hot dog, as she glanced down at her daughter, while Salizar talked to Jenna. Jenna clung lightly to her mommy's pant leg, while holding the hot dog in the other, and gave a small smile to the man. She was not used to so much attention, especially from males. After looking up at her mommy for the okay, because this man was a stranger, she said, ”Jenna.” Her blush deepened some at his compliment. ”That's like mine!” she said, letting go of Ariyana to point to Salizar;s hat. It looked like her's she thought, they both were blue. Ariyana watched the interaction between Michael an Jenna. Happy her daughter remembered him, at least from the pictures she'd shown her. He was important to her. Like family. Shopping with Nykki. Oh, boy something told her this would be interesting. Admittedly, she was nervous. She could not really afford to spend more than what she already had on clothes and things for the game. And she didn't want anyone else spending their money on her daughter. She watched as two others came, smiling at them. “I had a pretty easy time as well," she replied looking at Laura, and answering her question. ”Foul balls?” Jenna asked in confusion to Nykki, not understanding. Jenna followed Holding Ariyana's hand as they walked.
When Nykki introduced Michael to the others, he nodded, and smiled. Today was a good day for this outing, he thought. Ariyana offered him a hot dog, which he greatly accepted, and ate some with his beer. He couldn't help but look don at the little girl at her side, Jenna. When she'd been younger, she'd called him 'Uncle Michael.' Well, that's what it was supposed to be, she had been too young to say it right. He figured the little girl probably did not remember him, but was surprised when she looked at him and said, ”Uncle Michael!” The look on Ariyana's face told him she was hoping no one would ask questions. He didn't blame her, it would be easy for her to talk about. Sometimes, it was easier to say they had met through mutual friends, than the truth. As Nykki mentioned shopping, Michael made a face, he would much rather watch the ore-game stuff, but began to follow the group anyway.
Chris frowned. He did not want to go shopping. He could do that with Laura back home, and not have driven to the Stadium. Besides, he enjoyed watching the warm ups, and wondering what it would feel like to play on an MLB team. ”I don't do shopping,” he whispered to Laura through gritted teeth. Chris took a drink of his water as Nykki approached them. He'd worked with her some in the infirmary. And while he did what was necessary for his job, he never had been nor would be a very outgoing or talkative person. The Evans' siblings were quite opposite in that regard. He watched some as Nykki hugged his sister out of the corner of his eye, looking at the others around them. Then he felt arms on him, and startled, instantly becoming very stiff. Personal space. Personal space. Personal space He felt like he was struggling to breathe, his heart pounding in his chest, like how he gets often when he has a panic attack. There were two people who could just hug him without warning, and Nykki was not one of them. Though he didn't usually have such a physical response like this, but today had been a stressful day. When she released him, he took some deep breaths, trying to get back under control. Maybe coming was not such a good idea, after all.
