General Description: Doctor Reid is not someone who spends too much time in social situations. They tend to put him on edge, especially in large numbers. However, he has no problems speaking in front of a lecture hall filled with over five hundred students. He has confidence in his knowledge and what he can teach someone; but, he lacks confidence in simply holding a conversation. He fears coming across dull, as he is sure he does many times. Jack is a very caring individual, though, even if there are times he seems to lack empathy. He never does it on purpose, and he honestly does care about people. That is why he donates a lot of time and money to the charities he supports. He's had a slight fear of the dark for as long as he can remember, but it is not something he is very open about. He tries to talk himself through it on nights it gets bad with the saying: "there's nothing in the dark that isn't there in the light".[/justify][/blockquote][/size]

History: Los Angeles was the city that Jackson grew up in, and is part of the main reason that the man does not like that city. He had a loving, supportive family; but, even at a young age, he had a harder time making friends and socializing. He had his IQ tested young, and his parents were not really surprised at the heightened level. The boy had begun speaking and reading a lot sooner than his peers. Jackson spent more time reading than playing outside. He enjoyed learning. The boy graduated high school early, never quite connecting with most of his classmates since they were all quite a bit older. Most of the students his own age resented him because he was in a higher level than they were. He was barely in his teens when he graduated high school and from there he went on to college where he ended up studying a little bit of everything. By the time he was done with his schooling he had his doctorate in anthropology, a masters in psychology, a bachelors degree in criminology with a minor in sociology and he was barely even twenty-one.
After that, Jackson taught a few classes at the university while working on a novel that he released under a pseudonym that became a series that did rather well, based around criminology. He traveled around the world a little, giving speeches here and there on different subjects. He never settled in one place for too long, though he would visit home every so often. Despite how much he disliked Los Angeles, his family was there. It was after his non-fiction book on certain mental disorders that was released under his own name that Jackson was offered a job at St. Helena's Academy. The school was unlike one he had heard of before and agreed to join the staff as a teacher as well as a counselor. He was not sure if he would be able to make any difference there, but he still wanted to try.[/justify][/blockquote][/size]
