Disorders: schizophrenia and social anxiety.
General Description: when you first see motley, he looks like any other emo kid. some t-shirt for a band, movie, video game, or cartoon he likes over a black long sleeve shirt that's hooked over his thumbs; black or dark blue skinny jeans with a stud belt; dirty converse. most leave at that; after all, emo is just a trend these days that make people "cool," right? if you actually got up and talk to him, you'd immediately notice his anxiety. how he can barely look someone in the eye, hos he stutters and stumbles over his words, how his body shakes and he fidgets with his sleeves. however, once he relaxes a little bit, he can almost be an interesting person that you could enjoy talking to. he doesn't talk a lot, mind you, unless it's about certain topics or he's extremely comfortable with you. he doesn't think very well of himself, never has, and it only got worse after his twin killed herself. he was always quiet and a bit withdrawn, but is a good person to have around if you just want to someone to listen to you and maybe get an honest opinion.[/blockquote]

Pets: two shiba inu puppies: fang and zero.
Other: dawn marie elias, aunt; justin christofer elias, uncle.
History: motley came from a privileged family. his parents were both very reputable people and had very successful careers; his mom owned a very popular record label and his dad was on the city council back in their hometown of denver, colorado. motley and his twin sister were best friends growing up, they always had each other's backs and could tell just what was wrong with one another. this came came in handy as they and their older brother grew up under the harsh strictness their parents raised them. if they didn't do as they were told, they were reprimanded; when dad pulled off his belt, you either did what he told you or you suffered the painful consequences. they would accept nothing less than perfection from their children and did what they felt would bring that up in the three children. the siblings relied on each other for helpful reminders and positive reinforcement of their parents' rules to keep each other in line.
then the first tragedy struck. alec was outside playing, just nine years old. you could hear him talking and laughing with a couple of the neighborhood kids. then silence, for the longest time. angel went out to check on her son, and there wasn't a trace of him or the three friends he had been playing with. investigations and searches went on for years with nothing coming back, for any of the missing children; for years, all the parents waited for ransom notes that never came; after years of waiting, all they felt like they could wait for was their bodies of their children to be found. instead of mourning their missing son, they took it out on the twins. they felt like, maybe if they were stricter, they could prevent it from happening to their babies. but they laid their hands on the twins one too many times, and left a few too many bruises. when they were twelve, their neighbor asked them about what happened; the truth came out and their parents were arrested for child abuse, and the twins were sent to live with their aunt and uncle in the woods of washington.
things were a lot easier, and more enjoyable, for the next would years. their aunt and uncle had them both see a therapist to help them overcome the abuse, and the twins were able to express themselves without being told it made them look trashy or they were stupid. everything seemed to be getting better and motley was happy. his sister, always being the outgoing and more adventurous one, gave him the friends he had and the experiences; she encouraged his idea to start a band. so he did, with her as the lead vocals and bass while he did guitar, violin, and back vocals; soon there was a small group of people playing music in the garage. but, shortly after the twins turned fourteen, tragedy struck again. motley had been unable to find his sister all day, so he went out to their secret hiding place by the river to find her... and that he did. she had hung herself, a note tied delicately to her wrist with his name on it. "motley, i'm so sorry, please don't blame yourself. i just can't stand always cringing back like a coward when someone raises their hand at me. i can't stand the nights of silently crying myself to sleep. i can't stand freezing up and having a panic attack whenever someone raises their voice at me. i love you. please forgive me."
and motley was never the same. he became even more quiet and even more withdrawn, talking less. he barely spoke for almost a year. but then, it almost instantly went back to when rian was alive, except now he would talk to the empty seat beside him, to the air... so his aunt and uncle asked him. "rian. she's right there," motley said, pointing to the empty seat on the couch while they watched her favorite cartoon. they told him the spot was empty and he looked at them in confusion, "can't you see her?" again, they told him no one was there. "but... she's right there! she said the whole thing was just a prank!" his eyes were wide. and to him, she was there; clear as day, as if nothing had ever happened, having a conversation with him. and that was when st. helena's became a part of his life.[style=][/style][/blockquote]
