History:
Ariyana was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to two loving parents. She was an only child and was adored and spoiled by her parents. Growing up she did well in school both academically, socially and physically. She got A's and B's and was in girl scouts during elementary school. In Middle and High school she continued to do well with her grades and participated in cross country.
She graduated high school with honors and went on to college at the local university. Her first year went well. She got good grades, made new friends and met a junior named Derrick, whom she really liked. Her Sophomore year she continued to do well and worked as a resident assistant. Ariyana and Derrick began to date. Derrick graduated and for her Junior year Ariyana decided to share an apartment with him. She did not know then what a bad choice that would be.
He became abusive and began to isolate her from her friends and family. As time went on, he began to beat her and by the end of her junior year she was failing her classes and had been in the hospital many times. Derrick was arrested multiple times. Ariyana moved back home and took a year off of school to heal. When she felt ready to go back to school, she decided to become a counselor. One day on her way home from night class, Derrick found her and raped and beat her. He was arrested and put in jail. A few months later Ariyana found out she was pregnant.
Ariyana and her family moved to a small town in Kansas hoping to be safe from Derick. She gave birth to a beautiful baby girl she named Jenna. For a few years she worked part time as a waitress and went to school, while caring for her daughter. During her final semester her parents were killed by a drunk driver. She graduated with honors despite this, and knew her parents would have been very proud of her.
One day on her way home from work she thought she saw Derrick. She was scared and thanks to the help of co-workers and a domestic abuse shelter, she found out about St. Helena's. She found out about an open counselor and teaching position, and decided to move to Summersville with Jenna, hoping for a new start. And hoping Derrick can't find them, as she knows he is now out of jail.[/justify][/blockquote][/size]
