General Description: Laura is a little bit taller than average height, which is often heightened more by heels. She tries to dress more professional at work, with light make-up; but, is known for dressing more casually (or scantily depending on where she is going) off duty. Her skin is usually fairly pale, though she can tan in the summer; and, she has a small, butterfly tattoo on the small of her back. Her eyes are a green color with hints of brown that changes in tint depending on the light. General Description: Laura Evans is one of those happy-go-lucky people that always tries to see the bright side of things. Even after the loss of her family, Laura was the one to try to keep her and her brother from falling apart. It was more difficult than she let on to her brother; but, her aunt and uncle were well aware, trying to help her carry the weight she had placed on her own shoulders. Laura had never wanted her brother to see her cry. She was the eldest, after all. She's one of those people who loves easily and whole-heartedly, putting everything aside for her friends and family. She would do anything for them, and most especially her brother. Anyone important that has come into her life has always had to be able to be approved by her brother because while she might choose people who will annoy him, she trusted his judgement of their character as well.[/justify][/blockquote][/size]

History: Laura was five when her little brother was born, and she vaguely remembers the time right around that. She was a great big sister, there to help her parents with him. As they got older, she went to school and he stayed home; but, that did not stop them from playing together afterward. He was her favorite person to play with, despite the fact that none of her classmates seemed to like spending time with their siblings. Laura liked that she was close to Chris. She was in junior high when she started baby-sitting A.J. after she got out of school, and from then on, the kid was basically a part of the family with how often he was 'round their place or Chris would hang out at A.J.'s. She often would tease Chris (light heartedly, of course) about how A.J. would follow him around and basically want to do whatever it was that Chris wanted. By the time that she graduated high school, she and A.J. had pulled off many masterful pranks (usually with Chris as the target), with one amazing one that had been ruined by her brother's big mouth. She went off to college, then, staying near by enough that she could visit on the weekends. She worked part time at a diner as a waitress and cook to help pay for college, especially after she had decided to go for her doctorate. It was during one of those visits home that everything changed. A single car accident took the lives of her parents and she and Chris were left alone.
Laura could not look after Chris herself, even if he was going to be eighteen soon; and, they moved across the country to where their Aunt and Uncle lived. Laura switched colleges and continued her education while living with the two of them and her brother. Things were rocky there for a while, but she kept up her good spirits as much as possible and tried to help Chris through. She had noticed his lack of communication with A.J. as well, and despite the few communications she had with the teen already, she stopped too. She was not sure exactly what Chris' reasoning was, but Laura did not want to be stuck between the two of them, which would happen if she stayed in contact, but Chris didn't. Laura always worried about the kid, though; and, she would check the news from their old hometown, just enough to keep up to date.
Getting her doctorate was something that Laura was quite proud of and she had a focus on pediatrics. She wanted to be able to help kids. Which was why when she was offered a position at St. Helena's, she took the job. A year later, her brother was offered a job there as well, and she gladly let him move into the lonely apartment she had been renting. It had been odd to not have him there for a year; but, she could not exactly work at St. Helena's and continue to live with their aunt and uncle. Laura was not aware that A.J. was a member of the school's staff that year, yet; but, she had a feeling as the term started, that things were going to look up.[/justify][/blockquote][/size]
