General Description: There is nothing really extraordinary about Vanyel. He has black hair and blue eyes, a pale complexion and seems a little skinny. Though all the weight he has is pure muscle, and he's not afraid of using it to get his way if the more subtler techniqes don't work. History: Vanyel is the eldest child born to Savil and Daren Bryght, and the only male decendant of the Ashkevron line. Though Savil broke custom and married someone her family did not approve of, Vanyel was coveted among the Ashkevron family. So when the Bryght family continued to have children, the Ashkevron line reported the Bryghts as being unfit parents, and offered the state the opportunity to let them adopt one of the children to help relieve the financial burden from the Bryght family. Naturally, when the state presented this very generous offer to the Bryght's, they were not very pleased with the idea of losing one of their children. But the state declared they let Savil's parents adopt one... or they could possibly end up losing them all.
So at age 4, Vanyel was taken from his family home and sent to live with his grandparents. The Ashkevrons took in Vanyel and gave him their name, removing any connection he may have had in regard to the 'Bryght' family. He was raised as their son, and Vanyel does not even really remember his parents for the Ashkevron's soon disinherited Savil soon after the adoption of Vanyel was complete. He has not seen his brothers or sister since the adoption came through, and he was told simply that his parents could not take proper care of him, which is why he was given to them.
The Ashkevron's, being of the high society who just couldn't let go of their ancestry (they will be among the first to boast that their ancestors were survivors of the Titanic disaster), and think that they are the highest of class. They own several homes all over the world for vacation purposes, and raised Vanyel to be the perfect heir to their wealth and to carry on the family name. They assumed his detachment which grew with age simply came from the proper breeding, and could not have been more proud. His refusal to spend time with school mates, even those who attended the same private school he did, only further demonstrated to Gwena and Rolan that their adoptive 'son' knew that he was better than all the rest and viewed the others as not worthy of his time.
Though of course, like any well brought off family, they had their own family physician who was showing quite a lot of interest in Vanyel, and suggested to his parents that he may need therapy. Naturally, they were horrified that their 'heir' could have something wrong with him, and so secretly took him to a psychiatrist who spent several hours each day for a week with Vanyel and diagnosed him with Schizoid Personality Disorder. Because the treatment would be difficult to hide, the psychiatrist suggested that Gwena and Rolan send him to St. Helena's School and claim that they were sending Vanyel to an elite private school. And so it was done, entering into his Junior year, he was enrolled into St. Helena's school. [/justify][/blockquote][/size]
