General Description: A.J. is known for being the kind of guy who maybe owns one dress shirt and a pair of slacks, just in case he needs them for an interview. He does not own any dressy shoes, however. He prefers comfort over style, and iconic t-shirts make of the majority of his wardrobe. A.J. favors the color red, and is rarely seen without some type of hoodie on. Converse make up his shoe collection, with a few Vans thrown in there. His skin is generally pale, but he does tan slightly in the summer (if he ever gets dragged outside). He's not known for being very muscular, but playing soccer and running track have helped keep him a bit more fit and toned than his clothing choices usually show off. He has reading glasses, but shh. General Description: A.J. is one of those people that you either adore or annoys the crap out of you. There's a very fine line between the two at times. He's hyperactive, even though it is not as bad now as it used to be when he was a teenager. A.J. does not always have the best attention span, unless he finds something (or someone) truly fascinating. He forgets names easily, but not for lack of trying. One of the most friendly people, A.J. is also quite talkative. Jarred sometimes does not know when to shut up. He finds friends easily enough, and trusts rather openly. However, this is a boy who rarely shows anyone that he is feeling anything less than his typical smiling, happy self. He would rather tell jokes and avoid the topic than let someone know he is hurting.[/justify][/blockquote][/size]

History: Maria Listing and Jarred West were rather young when they had their son, who they named "Ashley" after Maria's father. However, Maria did not stay in the family for too long after A.J. was born. She and Jarred were in a rough spot, mostly due to the fact that his job did not keep her in the life of luxury that she was used to growing up. She did not really want to be saddled with a kid, and when Jarred finally proposed, she declined only to move out the following day. A.J. was not even two when she left.
After the couple broke up, Jarred moved back in with his parents, taking A.J. with him. They lived there until the man could save up enough to get a new place, and then, they left to live across the country and away from the small town Jarred grew up in. They settled in another small town in Northern Oregon, where they lived throughout the rest of A.J.'s childhood. He was not overly popular as he grew up, but he was not an outcast, either. He had a great group of friends, and high school was a great experience all-in-all.
College was something new and exciting, and A.J. ended up taking courses in Seattle, Washington. Three years into his studies, and A.J. found himself talking to his adviser about taking on internships or working on his student teaching. Together, they found out about St. Helena's, where he could cover his student teaching, while getting some internship training in the counseling area that he was interested in. So, at the beginning of August, A.J. moved from his apartment in Seattle to a different one in the small town of Summersville so that he could begin the year working at St. Helena's Academy, hoping that it would be for the best.[/justify][/blockquote][/size]
