He feels very protective over all of them, even Jaysin despite the kid's seeming dislike of everyone that is not Skylar. Parker has little patience with people who disrespect his family, and through the years that has gotten in him into many fights, not all of them he walked away the winner from. The only people who can make fun of his messed up hodge-podge of a family is his family. Everyone else can back off. It has been known for years that Parker is bipolar, as he inherited it from his father (he sarcastically thanks the man for that whenever it comes up). He had done well at keeping up with his medication, or keeping his extreme highs and lows hidden from their mother. After Cissy got sent away to St. Helena's like the other two screw ups (he called them that affectionately), Parker stopped trying to hide the way he would go from manic to depressive more often than he should have been if he kept up with his medications. However, he was not taking them right; and, after an episode at the school where he snapped on one of the other students, injuring himself and the other teen, it was decided that maybe the boy needed help handling everything and learning to take his medications as prescribed. Of course, once at the school, Parker had little issue starting up his medication again. He just needed an in, a way to get there to make sure that his family (the broken pieces of it) were okay.
