It was a gorgeous day, and Gavin could not in good conscious spend his lunch cooped up inside. He got up from his chair, walked over to the corner where he kept his guitar, and picked it up. Making his way out of the office, he closed the door behind himself, making sure to lock it up. As he made his way down the hallway, he stopped at the staff lounge, and grabbed his burrito and Coke out of the fridge before continuing on his way. Gavin grinned at students as he passed them in the hall, some he knew from the classes he taught, some he didn't. Being friendly was just in his nature, and he was by no means someone who would be considered shy. He wanted to make people happy, make them smile.
Stepping outside, he squinted from the sun, stopping to let his eyes adjust for a second. He made his way over to an empty picnic table, and set his food down. Gavin sat down on the bench, holding his guitar in one hand, while the other reached and grabbed the sunglasses that were on top of his head, and put them on so he could see. He situated the guitar in front of him, playing a few cords as he thought of what he wanted to play. Journey? Nah. The Weight. Not really feelin' it. How 'bout 'Free Fallin,' he thought to himself. He started playing, cleared his throat, and ran his tongue over his lips before he began singing:
Grinning, he alternated between looking down at the guitar, and looking out around him. It had been awhile since he had sang it, but it was one of his favorites. He was pretty sure he could get through it without any major mishaps. Hopefully, he wasn't bothering anyone. If anyone asked him to stop he would. Getting more into the music, his body swaying slightly as he played, he continued:

She's a good girl, loves her mama
Loves Jesus and America too
She's a good girl, crazy 'bout Elvis
Loves horses and her boyfriend too
It's a long day, livin' in Reseda
There's a freeway, runnin' through the yard
And I'm a bad boy, 'cause I don't even miss her
I'm a bad boy for breakin' her heart
And I'm free, free fallin'
Yeah I'm free, free fallin'

All the vampires, walkin' through the valley
Move west down, Ventura Blvd.
And all the bad boys, are standing in the shadows
All the good girls, are home with broken hearts
And I'm free, I'm free fallin'
Yeah I'm free, free fallin'...
Move west down, Ventura Blvd.
And all the bad boys, are standing in the shadows
All the good girls, are home with broken hearts
And I'm free, I'm free fallin'
Yeah I'm free, free fallin'...
