General Description: Elijah always looks very well put together when he's at the school. He dresses a little formally, but tries to keep it a bit casual at the same time; but, it does not always look as casual as he thinks. He never wears suits to work, but still manages to always look nice. At home, however, he is known more for wearing ratting t-shirts, and old, worn-in jeans. General Description: Students who have never had Mr. Conner are often warned that he can be a bit strict, kind of a hard ass, because he is. There is a reason for it, though. He hates seeing students just half-ass their way through the school, so he puts a bit more pressure on his own students. He has set rules that he expects the students to follow in his classroom. He doesn't accept excuses and frowns upon the students trying to lie to him. However, if you prove that you're actually trying and you've shown him you can and will work, he loosens up a bit. Typically his older students get to see his goofier side that the younger students rarely, if ever, get to witness until later in the school year.
Elijah is the type of teacher that has no problem demonstrating what he wants from his students, and has been witnessed rolling around on the floor in his acting class more than once. He's been known to dress up in the costumes and crack jokes with an infectious smile. His biggest goal is to help his students succeed, and there's not much he won't do to help them, especially those students that work really hard and show that they actually want it. He's the type that will help them find and practice for auditions for colleges and performances outside the school. He'll stay after school for one-on-one sessions for students that ask for the extra help, and he never leaves play practice until every student is content with the day's practice. The teacher has an open phone/door policy that allows his students to contact him at any time if they need his help, whether or not it's school related. More than once he's picked up a drunk student from a party and driven them back to campus. He's slightly unorthodox, but Elijah's got no plans of changing.[/justify][/blockquote][/size]

History:
- Early Years
Elijah was the middle child born to Emily and Lucas Conner, his sister being two years older and brother being three years younger. The family was very close, and Elijah was never one to want for anything. His family, even if it weren't for his parents' high salary jobs, would never be one to really need money. They were what some people would call "old money", and the children were fairly spoiled growing up. However, their parents made sure to teach them how to be humble and decent people despite everything they had. Elijah was in elementary school when he became friends with Kieran, whose home life was so drastically different from his own that he had no idea what to think of it, at first. - Middle and High School
His teenage years were really rather normal, and he spent most of his time actually happy. Elijah had many friends, and good grades. He had a few relationships, but nothing that ever grew very serious. All the while, though, he remained friends with Kieran, helping his friend through his hard times. It saddened Elijah to know how bad things were for his friend, and he wished there was something he could do. Elijah tried to be there through his friend's rebellious stage; but, there was only so much that he could do. He wrote and called his best friend when Kieran was sent away for school, trying to do his best to keep in contact, and Elijah was very happy to find his friend both happier and healthier when he returned. High school was ending, and they were all moving on to new things. - College and After
Elijah got into one of the best colleges in the state, and went there to pursue a teaching degree. Once he started his learning, though, he took it farther and got a degree in counseling as well, focusing on personality disorders and teens who were suicidal. He continued to be friends with Kieran, though it was more through phone calls, emails, and letters as they were in completely different cities; and, in his sophomore year of college, Elijah transferred to a university up in Washington state. In college, he met a woman that he would almost immediately fall in love with. They were going to get married once they both got settled into their lives out of college: Elijah teaching at St. Helena's, and her in her writing. However, their plans ended up being shaken when half-way through her book tour, they found out that she was pregnant. Their little girl was born nine months later, and Evangeline became the center of their worlds.
They were still going to be married, but they were going to wait until their daughter was older and would remember it. Things would never happen as planned, however, because the woman that Elijah had fallen for was killed by a drunk driver one night when their little girl was barely a year old. Nothing was the same after that. Elijah split his time between St. Helena's and being with his daughter, who had a babysitter throughout the day when he was at school. Elijah still kept in contact with his best friend Kieran, but the distance had made things more strained. Good news came after Evangeline turned three, though, when Elijah found out that his best friend was coming up to teach at the same school as him. Maybe things would look up even more from there.
