History:
Gavin was born, the only hearing member in a Deaf family. He has a younger sister Alice. His parents Debra and Robert, loved him and Alice very much and did the best they could to provide for their children. School was not easy at first for Gavin. Growing up with two Deaf parents, he was delayed in his speech, and had to have speech therapy. The kids in his class teased him, and for awhile he did not have very many friends. However, this all changed when his mom signed him up for choir. He found that he was quite good, and became friends with many of the kids. Middle school and high school went well for him. He made honor roll, and was in a few choirs. He worked hard, and earned himself a full music scholarship to the local college.
Before he started his Freshman year of college, he took out his high school sweetheart, Abby, and proposed to her. She said yes, and they had a wonderful evening together. Until they were walking back from the concert, that is. They were mugged, and both of them were shot. Abby died at the scene. Gavin made it to the hospital in critical condition, and after hours in surgery, survived. Needless to say, he did not go to college that year, taking time to heal himself physically and emotionally. He also began taking self defense classes. The next year he went to college. And because of the counselor who helped him deal with Abby's death he decided to major in and social work and minor in music. While there he auditioned to be in the choir, and was accepted.
On the recommendation of one of his professors, Gavin applied to do his internship at St. Helena's. He interviewed and was hired. [/justify][/blockquote][/size]
